Picnic at the Park

I took a couple days off as we didn't have daycare.  I needed the break anyways and enjoyed being with the boys yesterday.  Dominic wasn't feeling 100% so in lieu of the Arboretum, we headed to the local park and had lunch.  They probably had just as much fun anyways.

So happy to be right at the table.  Most of the time he's still in his high chair...because it's easier for me!

 

This is the spider that Dominic got himself.  He was downstairs playing by himself, got the kleenex to grab it.  He was so proud that he did it all by himself.  We didn't know he did this until he told us.   So glad he's not afraid of those little buggers!

Visit to the Shedd Aquarium

We recently took some time off and had a fun day with the boys at the Shedd Aquarium.  Thanks to Mike's co-worker, we got tickets for everything...for free!  It would have cost us an arm and a leg otherwise.  The boys had fun.  I think Dominic was more interested in pushing buttons on different exhibits to see what would light up and not so much the fish.  There was also camping stuff in one of the wings and the boys were more into playing in the tent and canoe.  As long as they were having fun!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Conversations from today with Dominic


We are in the car on the way home.
Dom: Is Daddy home.
Me: No, daddy is not home.  He has to work late.
Dom: Oh well, when I get home, I'm going to go in the house, take off my shoes and yell for Daddy.  Then I'll look in the house or maybe outside for him.


After dinner we are playing outside in the backyard on the swingset.  The neighbor let's his dog out and Dom says hello and they both run back and forth along the fence.
He climbs back on the slide and looks back at the dog while Quinton is swinging in the baby swing.


Dom: Kato, do see my best friend Quinton?  Kato, say hi to Quinton.  Mom, Kato isn't saying hi.  He hasn't learned how to talk yet.
Me: No Dom, dogs don't talk they only bark.
Dom: I can bark.

Magic

Dominic learned a new magic trick from Papa G. Watch as he makes his finger disappear and then re-appear!

Hanging out in January

It's been fun to see the boys interact together as Quinton gets older. He adores Dominic and always will smile and laugh when he see him. Dominic is great with him too. In the morning, he come in Q's room and say good morning. That make Q smile and just light up. The boys will also make noises back and forth with each other. This happens frequently in the car ride home. I watch them interact and think it must have been so boring for Dominic at this age to just have had only Mike and I. These two really keep each other entertained.

Recently, Dominic found that he can hide under Quinton's crib. This morning both boys were under the crib giggling together. It was a sweet moment. I have to try to get that on video and post that!
