Winterfest

We spent Saturday at Navy Pier's Winterfest with friends.

The older kids had a great time going on all the rides.

Even the younger ones enjoyed all the lights.

For those adults who need take the edge off....

Cookie Decorating

Pretty big cookies, right?

Now my kid has half his cookie down while the other kids have 2-3 bits into theirs. Don't get in the way of his sweets! Now, it may look like he couldn't eat another bit. Don't be fooled. He polished off that cookie and didn't want to share with mom or dad.

First ride on a ferris wheel. He LOVED it. He couldn't stop laughing and had the biggest smile on his face the whole time. Of course the line for this ride took way too long and of course wanted to go again. Maybe next year buddy.

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving was great this year as we had family in from TX and all the cousins on my mom's side of the family were able to come. Dominic loved having his cousins, Hanna & Oliver stay at our house. The kids got along really well and had fun playing together. Dominic really missed Hanna after they had been at our house for most of the week. Sunday he kept asking where Hanna was and asking her to come back to our house.

Hanna also has recently lost a number of teeth. Dominic has now been telling us that he lost his teeth since they left. He'll stick out his bottom teeth and say "see, I'm missing my teeth." I guess it really made an impression on him. I'm personally not ready for loose teeth...I hated loosing my teeth when I was younger. I think that will be a daddy job.

Quinton got his second tooth in right before Thanksgiving. He also has figured out how to scooch around and really got the hang of it by the end of the week. It's like he finally realized that he can get to the things he sees and wants to touch. Having Oliver, who is 18 months, at the house put the gate back into use. I think it was good practice for all of us to now get back into the habit of using with Quinton on the move.

Halloween 2011

Leading up to Halloween, Dominic didn't want to wear his costume. I guess the idea of getting candy convinced him enough. He had a great time going to each house.

He enjoyed handing out some candy himself too. He'd hand out the candy to the trick or treaters then say "and I need one for me too" and add it to his bucket.

How cute is it when kids say adult phrases or start singing your favorite songs on the 90's? It's real cute. This video is "too legit!"
